Bluefire Reader App Reviews

This reader is layed out well, and seems to offer the functions popular to most available products. However using them is painfully slow. Even the most simple task of highlighting text, or navigating page to page, is remarkably cumbersome, as if the application is stuck. I hope these are fixed in future versions.

The only reason I even use this app is because its the required app for reading graphic novels and trade paperbacks from NetGalley. It takes a silly long amount of time to load pages, and freezes up not infrequently.

You cant use the highlight feature, it crashes every time you try on iPad. It can not perform simple in text searches!! Im glad it was free!

The amount of time it takes for the next page to load is maddening when there are images. Now I think its freezing up on me.

For some lord only knows why reason, my local library system in Texas, and the University of Chicago (if you have a Kindle), force you to use this terrible app, Bluefire. What I want to know is (to harken back to LBJ) whos got whose pecker in his pocket?

This is my favorite reading app for reading ePub ebooks. I use it on both my iPhone, iPad mini and iPad Air. I love the ability to create collections. I like that I can swipe to increase or decrease brightness and the brightness control is separate from the device control. Syncing between my devices has been working good. I love the fact that I can download books to the app directly from several websites. I have not experienced slowness, but I only use the app for reading. The only thing on my wishlist is two column layout in landscape.

This was a great app, but after the last few updates its horrible. The pages will turn fine for a bit & then if you dont turn one "just so" it sticks for 30 seconds or so. Also, it takes the app much too long to load when I open it. If its on a book I dont want to read when I open the app I have no desire to sit & wait the minute or more it takes to become workable. I miss the old Bluefire Reader app

Not only does it crash, it doesnt work very often at all. Pages do not turn. You need to read all the books in a single setting because you cant re-open a book once you leave and come back. It is a total waste of time. We should be able to trust Adobe. But not this time. What a terrible disappointment.

If turning a page is a constant struggle in your reading app, its not a good app.

I used to love this app used to work great but in the past year it has become more horrible. Im not sure if the latest OS is part of the problem or what, but it has become so aggravating. It often freezes when I try to turn the page or if I hit contents and try to go back in the table of contents it will freeze between places in a book and then often it will just shut down. Closing down and restarting the app sometimes helps but then maybe a half an hour later I run into the same problem again. looking for another reading app. Please fix it!!! I miss this app

This app is so slow. When I try to highlight sections it takes forever or wont read my finger until the 20th time. Then when it finally does, it moves sooooo slow and wont even capture the who section I want highlighted. Also I dont understand why it wont let me zoom to make the font bigger; it only goes to a certain point which isnt that big in my opinion. I wish you could make the font as big as youd like. Id also like the ability to write notes on the pages, not a big fan of the bookmark function. Please make the app more user/student friendly.

The absolute worst reading experience of my entire life. Twitchy and non- responsive. I had to use this to read some texts front the library and if you need to highlight -- or turn pages -- this is awful, awful, awful. If you have an option, use it!!!! But the book (with I did after trying for ten minutes to read a single page and then try to move on to the next one). Poke out your eyes and learn Braille. Better than this travesty.

When I try to highlight some text it takes a long time to respond and then crashes and freezes. I have to close the app and start again to highlight my text. The notes do not work, I tried placid a note and once I wrote it I could not find it, went to bookmark and my note was not there.

This app is trash. Cannot turn the page without it freezing.... Be better Bluefire Reader.

Crashed when downloading book, and when I finally got the book, I cant read it because the pages wont turn. So bad, its (almost) funny. Stay away until it gets fixed

I am so frustrated with this app. I have to tap on the right side over and over to get the pages to turn. I got the app to read ARCs and it worked fine. Now, I have to keep tapping before the page will move. Very frustrating. Please fix it.

I use this app to read books (lots of books!) I download from library. Originally a Kindle fan, I now prefer the ePub format because Amazon doesnt tangled up in the transaction. Although Bluefire hasnt given me a single problem, there is no dictionary. Highlighting a word doesnt bring up a "define" option. Fortunately, I dont need it often.

My favorite ereading app for iPhone, and Ive tried them all.
